“rooms” was born in September in 2000, gathering 12 brands in a small showroom. It has become a leading event in Japan, playing a host to 570 brands and 25,000 people in three days through 40 events held twice yearly. “rooms” is not only a conventional joint exhibition, but a platform which facilitate the makers and the users with creative philosophy to communicate each other. The plethora of encounters generates give birth to new ideas and business.
ROOMS = a collection of “ROOM”
Conceiving of the worldview of each creator as its own room, we named the gathering of those creators “rooms”. Attendees visit a wide variety of rooms, encountering, being impressed by, and empathizing with creators overflowing with energy and individuality. Through this shared empathy and emotion, new creations spread like amoeba throughout the world, to build communities. “rooms”is a space that represents an opportunity to form new communities and connect with alternative business.
Creation for us is a fresh surprise that is different from the past, thought out in detail, carefully crafted, has a message based on a unique world view and deep thoughts, colors people’s lives, and brings fulfillment of life. We look for such a creation and propose it from Japan and the world.
